SHRI VARADENDRA CHARITY TRUST was set up vide a Deed of Settlement dated 31st October, 1970 by His Holiness Shrimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji, for achieving the Objectives as laid down in the Trust Deed with an initial board of trustees.
As per Clause 3 of the Trust Deed, His Holiness who will from time to time head the community has the power to appoint, remove, substitute & fill up the vacancies as and when the occasion arises. As per the Trust deed, there will be minimum of 5 and maximum of 7 trustees on the board.
Bola Narasimha Kamath, Bantval Narasimha Bhandarkar, Achuth Vaman Bhandarkar, Udupi Sanjiv Kamath, Padmanabha Vasudeva Prabhu, Madhav Govind Mallya and Ambalpadi Vaikunta Nayak were the first founding board of trustees of the Trust
Over period of time due to death and retirement, Swamiji nominated various people of the samaj as Trustees on the board. People like P.M.Shenoy, A.R.N.Nayak, U.J.Kini, M.R.Pai, H. Rama Shenoy are some of the people who have graced the board for various period of time rendering their respective services to the trust in particular and samaj in general
The Board of Trustees run the administration and day to day activities of the trust and also carry out various project activities in line with the Aims and Objects of the Trust and the conditions as envisaged in the Deed of Trust are followed.
Recently, H.H. Shrimad Samyamindra Tirtha Swamiji, the Mathadipathi of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan, Varanasi reconstituted the board of trustees vide his Rayasa Patra dated 4th September 2022 and appointed the following persons on the Board of Trustees for a period of five years or till further reconstitution.
